Snowdrops fill me with hope and the promise of longer days and warmer weather in the depths on winter. Their purity and simple elegance are a joy to paint.

I have paired the delicate white flowers with a beautiful mid-green background to give a calm, restful feel. The vase is painted in my signature style - sparingly - with minimal paint to give the suggestion of light bouncing off and through the water and glass.

Finished with several coats of professional artist varnish to protect from dust and UV rays, and allowing the painting to be hung without glass to avoid reflection and added weight.

Framed in the ‘St Ives’ style in a white wooden double frame, built by my expert framer in Bristol.
