Colourful, vibrant poppies are set against the soft green background to give a lively, fresh feel to this painting. My multi-tonal poppies have been proving popular since introducing them last year and are a joy to paint. The thick layers of textured paint are applied in ‘impasto’ style using handmade tools so they stand proud of the background.

This has a sister painting called 'Forever Young' with a blue background shown alongside in some of the in situ images.

The ‘St Ives’ style frame is hand built in Cornwall without glazing so the textural qualities may be fully appreciated. It is made from wood and painted white. The frame is painted pure white.
