Crimson Roses on Gold
Crimson Roses on Gold
I seldom paint roses but once in a while, their beauty captivates me and I find myself painting two or three at once. This painting is part of an evolving series of works inspired by varieties grown in my own and friends’ gardens.
Painted in rich, thick, impasto style this painting has a highly textured quality and is framed without glazing so the textures as well as the colours and composition may be fully appreciated.
Acrylic on board
Artwork 30cm x 30cm
Framed 48cm x 48cm
The ‘St Ives’ style frame is hand built in Bristol without glazing so the textural qualities may be fully appreciated. The painting is protected from UV light and dust with several coats of professional artist varnish.
The In situ room pictures are for illustration and do not accurately show the frame style. Please refer to the images showing actual frame style. All frames are hand built in the UK from solid wood, in the ‘St Ives’ style.
